Lindsey Boullt’s second album entitled “Composition“, was released last June, 2007. An established guitarist, composer and instructor in the San Francisco area, Boullt is a teacher at the renowned Guitar Institute. He is also the founder of the “Musician’s Showcase”, a highly respected forum for up and coming musicians, bands and students in the San Francisco Bay area. Containing ten original compositions and including an impressive cast of musicians, “Composition” is an intense album charged with influences ranging from metal and middle eastern music to jazz-rock and everything in between. Boullt is a musician of an eclectic nature. The album features artists such as violinist Jerry Goodman, keyboardist Derek Sherinian, bassist Stu Hamm, and drummer Atma Anur among others; a great band that feels at home playing complex passages and odd time meters. “Composition” has enough punch throughout to keep you listening. It is strong and somewhat dark. Boullt with no doubt is a great player, not only he has the chops, but he has great musicality as well. I would not be surprised to see him on the next G3 lineup.

To the Human Zoo guys, just wanted to say thanks for the interview for my school paper, Southwest Talon, back in the mid ’90s.
That was a cool interview at that warehouse behind Old Chinatown where so many bands rehearsed in Houston.
Michael, it was cool dropping by and talking to you at that music shop there in downtown Houston. I used to work at the South Texas College of Law across the street and it was handy when I needed some guitar strings after work.

I too had the distinct pleasure of working with Lindsey. I was the original singer for Human Zoo. As Mike stated in his comment, Lindsey was a great guy and brought out the best in all of us. I have listened to a few of the tracks on “Composition” and it is both amazing and inspiring. Lindsey is very talented, and will excel at anything musically he attempts.

I had the pleasure of being the bassist in a band with Lindsey in the 90’s called Human Zoo. Lindsey was like a glue holding everything together with is intense creative pallet. We had some awe-inspiring music, the likes of which will never be heard again. Even though I’ve not heard Composition, I see the titles and notice that there are possibly two songs on the album perhaps created in the Human Zoo era, Whirling Dervish & Taste The Hate. Lindsey, my hat’s off to you forever for the sense of perseverence, hard work, and obviously the wonderful craftmanship you place into your art.

Lindsey was my instructor in Houston and not only is he the most talented musician I’ve ever been around, but also one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. He has the knack for bringing the best out of all his students. Best of luck Lindsey and I hope to see you on the G3 tour too! Cleopatra’s Third Eye is my favorite song; a monster tune, incredible composition and guitar work!

Track Nine ‘Farewell’ of Lindsey Boullt’s Composition is truly an outstanding guitar piece. Well done!
