A new CD by classical guitarist Manuel Barrueco entitled “Solo Piazzolla”, was released on July 15, 2007 containning only music by the Argentinian composer. The CD includes Piazzolla’s well known “Verano Porteño”, “Invierno Porteño”, as well as “Cinco Piezas”, and Barrueco’s arrangements of the “Tango-Études”, originally written for solo flute. Another CD by Barrueco featuring Piazzolla’s music will come out this fall with the Grammy nominated quartet Cuarteto Latinoamericano. The CD is called “Tango Sensations” and includes Barrueco’s arrangements of the Five Tango Sensations, as well as La Muerte del Ángel, Milonga del Ángel, Libertango by Piazzolla, and Jeromita Linares by Guastavino.
